A few years back only expensive EVs were known but recently there are cheap models that are affordable to all people of a different class. This means everyone can be able to afford an electric car. The Expensive models included Jaguar I-pace, Tesla models and Audi e-Tron to name but a few.
For those who will want to switch to EV will have a range of options form next year because times are changing and the EV range widens every day. Therefore we will try to compare between the Cooper SE, Renault Zoe, Peugeot e-208 and Opel Corsa E.These are a sample of the small EVs that are and will be in the market between the end of the year and 2020
Range: Let’s start with the variable that worries you the most when it comes to electric cars: range with a “full” battery. The MINI Cooper SE goes the shortest distance. It is equipped with a 32.6 kWh battery and attains a range, between 235 and 270 kilometers (WLTP cycle), based on the set-up chosen by the customer.
All of the other cars compared here go at least 300 km, with the new Zoe (52 kWh battery) reaching 400 (the current one, with a 41 kW battery, hits just 300 km) and with the Peugeot e-208 and the Opel Corsa E (which share technology, including 50 kWh batteries ) covering 340 and 330 km, respectively.

Opel Corsa E battery 50 kWh range
Renault Zoe Battery 52 kWh range 330-400 km
Charging Times: The e-208 and Corsa E are able to recharge at up to 100 kW. The Mini Cooper SE and Zoe, on the other hand, do not exceed 50 kW. In times of recharging, it means that the Mini and Zoe need about 30 minutes to recharge enough to cover 150 km, while the Peugeot e-208 and Corsa E need about half of that time.
Performance: Despite its lower range it is the leader in performance, you already know which one am referring to of all the comparison we’ve discussed above right? If not am referring to the MINi cooper SE it comes with 184 hp, sprints from 0 to 100 in 7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 150km/h. Peugeot e-208, Opel Corsa E and Renault Zoe all have 136 and all stop at 135 km/h, with the first two covering the 0–100 in 8.1 seconds and the Zoe taking slightly longer.
