When you think of a panel van, what do you think of? The new models added to the range are the Grip and Asphalt, which are designed to cater to construction and long-distance users respectively. The Expert Grip has a ride height raised by 20mm and a sump guard to protect the underside of the van, while the Grip Control traction control system offers improved responses in slippery conditions. To help this, the Grip model also gets Mud & Snow tires.
The 2019 Peugeot Expert is an everyday commercial vehicle which can be specified in a multitude of body styles and with a multitude of engine variants. The technology as standard is extremely high and the styling is a nice change from the German rivals. This is a van which has also won multiple awards on the economy and can easily take a Euro-Pallet in the back.
Practicality inside is boosted by the Moduwork bulkhead that allows long objects to be loaded through to the cabin, while the middle seat also doubles as a table when you fold the seat back.
When you step inside, you find yourself surrounded by surprising luxury. Surround view camera, DAB, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition and much more, the interior is like a car more than a van.
It is quiet, comfortable and easy to drive. Whilst you do have blind spots due to the smaller wing mirrors, blind spot monitors helped to minimize the chance of issues. The standard sound system was punchy and loud, the infotainment was easy to use and the general feel of the interior was considerably beyond what you’d have thought possible in a commercial vehicle.
This model features added luxuries and more safety kit. On the outside, there are 17-inch alloy wheels and body-colored plastic trim, while a head-up display, sat-nav with voice control and a rear camera (as well as front and rear parking sensors) all feature. The Safety Pack adds speed limit recognition and automatic adaptation, lane assist, and a tiredness monitor, while the Driver Assist Pack includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and collision warning.
Payloads and cargo volumes are unlikely to be affected by these updates, while the Peugeot Expert is still available in Compact, Standard, Long, Crew Van and Platform Cab variants.
The starting price is approximate €21,520
